DAY 60 OF THE #RUN70 MILEAGE SERIES

Screen Shot 2017-07-15 at 5.25.56 AM.png   Day 60 was a super exciting run for me for a couple of reasons; first, I was running in Portland, a city I’ve never been to before with a change of scene, and the second was the fact that the 60th day marked the official tie break of the world record! My girlfriend, Alicia, ran the first 7k with me which made me more comfortable getting started and exploring new territory. She’s been the best support during this challenge and I couldn’t be more grateful – waking up at 5:00am to run the first 5k with me countless times, running a full 21.1k, biking along my side and giving me water and bananas – the list goes on. I’m so lucky to have such an incredibly supportive person in my life.

My pre-workout meal was a Quest protein bar (which was surprisingly very filling). Weather was cool and I ran North along the waterfront, beside the Willamette River, eventually getting into an industrial area before turning around and going back South across one of the many bridges then back to the hotel. My run ended with a massive meal from a delicious deli called Kenny & Zuke’s Delicatessen comprised of chopped liver and a pastrami sandwich 🙂

Only 1 more run until I beat the world record! 🙂

End pace was good at 5’50km/9’23mi after 2 hours 5 minutes and 37 seconds.

  1. Good luck tomorrow Emily as you set a new record. You are truly an inspiration that shows we can do hard things – hopefully including beating cancer!
