This morning’s run was a nice change. The weather cooled down quite a bit and there was a bit of light rain around the 11k mark that felt refreshing. Temperature was 17° and cloudy – I was worried it was going to thunderstorm, but the skies cleared up by the time I finished my run. I woke up with a bit of a headache and think I drank a bit too much coffee before running which made me feel a bit woozy, but I started feeling better after 45 minutes in.
My pre-workout meal was light this morning – it was one of those days that I just wasn’t hungry and had to force myself to eat. I had 1 energy ball (dates, peanut butter, chia and hemp seeds) and a whey isolate protein smoothie – almond milk, egg whites, spinach, and a banana. I was only able to get down about half of it pre-run though.
I started a new book today (my first non-fiction audiobook of this challenge), Born For This by one of my favourite authors, Chris Guillebeau. I wrote about this in several other posts, but his other book The Happiness of Pursuit inspired me to create this challenge as well as the 10k/day challenge I did in the month of January 2017.
My pace was slow and the same as yesterday at 6’13km/10’00mi after 2 hours 15 minutes and 23 seconds.
