Today was the kick-off for the WDS main stage weekend with a 9:00am start so I woke up at 4:30am and was out the door by 5:30 to make it on time. I got to catch the beautiful sunrise running north along the Willamette River then ran into an industrial area and back south to RiverPlace. I started listening to Shoe Dog by Phil Knight – very fitting for my runs in Portland. Weather was very cool at 14° and great for running. My legs felt stiff and sore from all the walking I’ve been doing the past few days. After yesterday’s record breaking run, I walked another 15km exploring the Northwest (23rd street) then back to my hotel in RiverPlace.
My pre-workout meal was a Quest protein bar and banana which gave me good, consistent energy throughout the run. Running that early for two days in a row was super tiring. Only 8 more days left in the #RUN70 Challenge!
Paced slow today at 6’14km/10’02mi after 2 hours 14 minutes and 8 seconds.
