After yesterday’s rough run, today was much better. In Day 30, I ate way too early before my workout which left my starving with super low energy at around the 12.5k mark – the rest of the run was a struggle. Running 21.1k burns approximately 1,500 calories (0.5 lbs of fat). It’s really hard to force myself to get the calories in some mornings before I leave for my runs. Some days I’m hungrier than others and some days I need to force myself to eat. Last night I made energy balls (that are super delicious) comprised of dates, peanut butter, sunflower seeds, and oats to give me quick carbs and fats before runs. I ate two pre-workout along with a Vega Vanilla smoothie with banana, almond milk, egg whites, and spinach. I had long lasting energy throughout.
Weather today couldn’t have been nicer – it was still sunny and beautiful at 17°, but with cool winds and no humidity. I ran along the Waterfront Trail in Port Credit again and felt like the time went by quickly today. Legs felt good and strong with little soreness.
I didn’t include my 30 day recap in yesterday’s post, so here it is!
Distance: 681.35km/423.37mi (16 marathons)
Calories: 46,085 (15 lbs of fat)
Time: 273.13 hours
Total money raised: $1,475/ $10,000
I still have a long way to go and haven’t yet reached the real halfway point (35), but am excited to celebrate each day and each kilometre run.
End pace today was good at 6’05km/9’48 mi after 2 hours 10 minutes and 53 seconds.
