This morning was hotter than normal and was a tough one – my feet were really sore from the wear and tear on my shoes and legs didn’t feel as limber as they have the past few days. I was in a work groove so left later in the morning (around 10:40am), which was a mistake. I keep forgetting it’s July and the Toronto humidity and heat can be stifling at that time.
I woke up really hungry this morning and had a bowl of oatmeal with protein powder and cottage cheese and a vanilla whey isolate smoothie with spinach, banana, and Icelandic yogurt. Definitely wasn’t enough food because my energy levels declined early at the 8k point.
This challenge has been interesting – who knew that I would get by best times 4 days in a row on the 50+ day? Then drop right back down (although still happy with today’s pace under 6’00). I am feeling tired now and don’t have as much enthusiasm as I did – it’s be a long haul and the time commitment and pressures on my body is immense.
Much slower pace than yesterday, but still decent at 5’57km/9’34mi after 2 hours 7 minutes and 34 seconds.
