DAY 64 OF THE #RUN70 MILEAGE SERIES

Screen Shot 2017-07-17 at 7.07.57 PM.pngToday was the hardest run I’ve done so far of the challenge at day 64. All the walking around Portland, early morning wake-ups, and lack of recovery has left my body feeling stiff and very sore. Today it felt like each step hurt – I had a throbbing headache and each kilometre felt like it was never-ending. Luckily, my girlfriend Alicia ran the first 10k with me that helped push me out the door and kept me staying positive – I’m so happy she was there with me today…needed support more than ever. Weather was cool, sunny at 17° which was good for running. I’ve never been so happy to finish a run than I was today.

My pre-workout meal was eggs, waffles, toast, and greek yogurt with mixed nuts and coconut. We’re only in Portland for two more days and headed to Gresham, Oregon to stay with my aunt – tomorrow and Wednesday will be a new route.

Only 6 more days left in the #RUN70 Challenge!

Paced very slow today at 6’20km/10’11mi after 2 hours 16 minutes and 11 seconds.
