I woke up this morning to dark grey skies and heavy rain and as I grabbed my phone to check the forecast for the day, I had a sick/anxious feeling in my stomach knowing that I’m going to have to run in this crap weather. I went back and forth trying to decide whether I run in the morning (like I usually do) or wait until early afternoon when the rain tapers down. After taking my dog out for a quick walk, I was almost blown away by the heavy winds and decided that I should wait a bit…hoping that the weather conditions would improve…They didn’t.

This morning I had a decent size breakfast – 1 cup of egg whites, 1 piece of multi-grain toast, cantaloupe and some broccoli. Then had a banana and 1/2 G2 right before my run. I left the house at around 11:00am this morning, the winds were bad and rain was heavy for the entire duration of the run, but I managed to stayed warm running in a zip-up with a rain jacket over top. I ran southwest by the Waterfront Trail then turned around and went back to the Distillery at the 10.6k mark. The way back was so bad. I actually wanted to cry. The wind was so strong, I almost blew over and the rain felt like it was stabbing me in the face. I had to hold the hood of my jacket while running to protect my eyes. My clothes and feet were soaked and I was pretty miserable.

Worst running conditions so far of the challenge, but best pace at 5’36k/9’00mi after 1 hours 59 minutes and 32 seconds.
