It was definitely a struggle pushing myself out the door this morning. Before this challenge, I always used Sundays as my rest days where I would sleep in, relax, rarely workout (and if I did it would be a short 5k or so), and eat like a piggy all day long. I needed that day to recharge and overindulge to push myself to be more strict with my workouts and diets during the week. Every Sunday I find my limbic system acting up and trying to talk me out of going for runs. Despite this push back, I eventually drag myself out the door.
The run actually went by faster than I thought it would. Weather was really hot at 25°, but I still got a nice breeze and some shady spots along the Waterfront Trail. I finished my fourth audiobook of the challenge, An Evil Mind by Chris Carter and paced by first 10.5k at just over an hour.
My pre-workout meal this morning was 2 poached eggs, one piece of whole grain toast, an entire french press of coffee with almond milk and a banana and sunflower seed butter. I’ve noticed that I’m hungrier in the mornings and eating more pre-run as I get father into this challenge. It’s been helping keep me full throughout the duration of the run.
Despite the heat, I was happy with my end pace at 6’00km/9’40mi after 2 hours 8 minutes and 39 seconds.
