Screen Shot 2017-06-28 at 6.40.20 AM.pngI woke up this morning freezing! I took my dog for a walk before my run and the temperature had dropped substantially overnight. Felt more like a March day than a late June day. My legs and feet were a bit sore today so I paced very slow. I’m back in Toronto this week and happy to be running along the Lakeshore Waterfront Trail to Parkdale then back to the Distillery District. I like this route for a few reasons; it’s along the water, there are several water fountains along the way, there are some parts with flat dirt that give my knees a break for pavement running, and a few bathrooms that seem to be placed right when I need them! It’s a beautiful trail in Toronto and keeps me more relaxed than the Port Credit Trail. As I mentioned, weather was cold at 13-14°, but the sun came out for the last few kilometres, warming me up.

I woke up this morning starving and ate way more than I usually do pre-workout; a bowl of oatmeal with cottage cheese and protein powder, a turkey wrap, and almost a full French Press of coffee with some cashew milk. I could’ve probably eaten more, but didn’t want to overdo it.

I ended the run with a GNC Banana pre-mixed protein smoothie (25g of protein), some stretching and iced my knees for 15 minutes

End pace was slow today at 6’20km/10’12mi after 2 hours 15 minutes and 52 seconds.
