DAY 49 OF THE #RUN70 MILEAGE SERIES

Screen Shot 2017-07-03 at 9.05.32 AM.pngI left for my run early for a Sunday and was out the door at around 8:30am – I had plans to go to a concert in Niagara on The Lake and planned to leave my condo around 11:30am. The Harbour Front was much quieter than yesterday’s crazy crowds so it was much easier to run my regular route. The temperature was warm at 20° and there was a cool, refreshing breeze by the water. The past few days I’ve seen runners go through the old Ontario Place grounds so I thought I’d switch up my route a bit and veer off my path for a couple kilometres. It was pretty neat seeing the abandon Ontario Place grounds. My legs and feet felt really strong again today and found myself running some very fast splits while listening to music.

My pre-workout meal was some leftover Spanish Paella that I made Friday night – very creative, I know..It wasn’t enough food though because I felt pretty hungry around the 13k mark and my stomach started to growl. I’ve experimented a lot with my diet during the challenge and as I’ve mentioned in other posts, some mornings I’m way hungrier than others. For the days I’m not hungry, I try eating a few calorie dense energy balls because they’re pretty easy to get down and keep me full and energized.

Excited to kick-off week 8 of the challenge with my body and mind feeling great!

A PB of the challenge so far at at 5’27km/8’46mi after 1 hours 57 minutes and 4 seconds.
