The past few runs have been bad – my legs were really sore and stiff, my feet felt numb, and I was mentally exhausted. Today’s run was so much better. After spending lots of time with recovery yesterday, I felt 100% better today. This challenge has been anything but predictable. I’ll run several days feeling great then get hit with a really bad day or two in a row making me want to throw in the towel (I don’t given of course!). One of the reasons I share updates and photos of my runs is not only to try and inspire others to push themselves to do incredible (and crazy things), but for slightly selfish reasons too. The encouraging comments and messages I receive help motivate me, especially on those extremely difficult days. I think about those comments all the time when I’m mentally and physically tired and my body aches – and use them as fuel to keep going.
Weather was much cooler today at 20° with light winds by the water. Much better running conditions. My pre-workout meal was 2 energy balls and a GNC pre-mixed vanilla bean protein smoothie (25g of protein) which gave me good, steady energy levels.
Paced good today at 5’49km/9’23mi after 2 hours 5 minutes and 42 seconds.
