Day 10 of the 10k Challenge

I went outside to walk my dog this morning and it was pretty slippery so I decided that I’d do my 10k indoors again (to avoid falling and slipping on my ass while running). Today was a bit different – I tried eating a bigger breakfast then I usually do about 45 minutes before my run. I had about ½ cup of Icelandic yogurt, 4 slices of peameal bacon, 1 egg, 1 ½ cup of broccoli, and a large slice of homemade wheat germ toast (compliments of chef Kayla Nezon), followed by a scoop of BCAAs mixed with water. The first 10 minutes of my run were fine, but my legs felt stiffer than usual. I also hadn’t fully digested my food and what I was hoping would turn into fuel for my run, just sat in my stomach and made me want to throw up the entire workout. Today was probably the hardest 6.35mi/10k I’ve done to-date and for the first time, just wanted it to end. I could feel the food in my stomach going up and down and there was a few times where I was debating jumping off the treadmill and running to the washroom. Definitely not the nicest feeling, but live and learn. Won’t be eating that much before interval running again. Still managed to pace pretty decent at 4′32 including cool down at level 6-7.
