Day 25 of the 10k Challenge

I started this morning off with a bit of a different routine than usual. I bought some supplements yesterday to mix into my workout regimen – I wanted to test a few things; the effects (if any) on my energy levels while working out and the building of lean muscle mass. I started my morning off with 5g of Creatine when I woke up followed by a high protein smoothie comprised of chocolate whey protein, a banana, 1 ½ cups of spinach, ½ cup of egg whites, and ½ cup of almond milk (35g protein). I did lower body resistance training today and brought while consuming a mixture of BCAAs with spinach and a bit more whey powder followed by 4km of high intensity interval training on the treadmill. I wanted to break up my run in two parts today – 4k indoors and 7k outdoors. I felt great for the first 4, but started to feel really tired (physically and mentally) when I was at the 8km mark outdoors. It’s too early to tell the effects yet, but I’m going to be documenting the difference in my workout for the last week of the challenge by eating super clean and cycling in Creatine and BCAAs. Overall, my energy levels were pretty stable this morning – I had a very productive day so far and my mood is happy, optimistic, and brain is full of ideas. Maybe it’s the small bit of sun peaking through the clouds (that I haven’t seen in over a week).
